We are proud to be one of the few Energy Star builder in Central Ohio,
which means we are meeting government guidelines for superior energy
efficiency.
Buying a home that has earned an Energy
Star is like making a down payment on a cleaner world.
Just one Energy Star labeled home can keep
4,500 pounds of greenhouse gases out of the air each year.
What is Energy Star?
- Energy Star is the government-backed
symbol for energy efficiency. It identifies new homes and over 30
types of products that are energy efficient without sacrificing the
features, quality, and personal comfort that today’s consumers expect.
Products that can earn the Energy Star include appliances, lighting,
home office equipment, consumer electronics, and heating and cooling
equipment. The Energy Star label on a new home means that it is significantly
more efficient. This means lower utility bills for you.
What should homes include that have
earned the Energy Star?
- Increased insulation - this helps
achieve even temperatures throughout the house while using less energy.
- High-performance windows - to
keep heat in during the winter and out during the summer. They also
block damaging ultraviolet sunlight that can discolor carpets and furniture.
- Tight construction - this helps
to eliminate drafts, moisture, dust, pests and pollen, which will
improve the quality of indoor air, while lowering maintenance costs.
- Energy-efficient heating and cooling
equipment - more efficient and properly installed heating and cooling
systems use less energy, which reduces utility bills. These systems
turn on and off less frequently, removing more humidity and providing
better comfort.
Why should Energy Star be important
to you?
- Lower utility costs - Compared
to non-Energy Star homes, Energy Star labeled homes use less energy
for heating, cooling and hot water heating. Homeowners can anticpate
savings of $1,000 - $2,000 annually on their utility bills. Click

- Helping to create a better future
- By purchasing an Energy Star labeled home, you are joining millions
of consumers who have changed to Energy Star, helping our nation reduce
our energy needs and building a cleaner environment for the future.
Did you know that your home can be a greater source of pollution than
your car? In fact, 15% of all greenhouse gases are generated from the
energy used in houses nationwide.
- More comfort/quieter home - keeping
out excessive heat, cold and noise and ensure consistent temperatures
between and across rooms, making these homes more comfortable to live
in.
